Our Bespoke Oak Premium Public Notice Boards.

We are proud to show off our new range of oak external public notice boards. These beautiful handmade solid oak external notice boards are of the finest quality, handcrafted with great care and attention to detail. You will not find an outdoor wooden noticeboard made with such a heavy-duty external frame. These are built to last.

Our oak outdoor notice boards include 4mm thick toughened glass glazed lockable doors, a steel magnetic backboard which can be finished in the colour of your choice and rail run-off strips around the doors.

Option Extras include – A top and bottom rail which can be engraved with words or lettering of your choice – up to 100 characters. The top rail can be curved to allow for extra engraving for bespoke carved logos or motifs, perfect for council crests and coats of arms – please contact us directly about additional carving.

All of our wooden notice boards come fully assembled and ready to use, including oak post if required.

Magnetic Back Board:

Unlike traditional public notice boards which would contain a cork or fabric pin board inside the bays which over time can become susceptible to dampness and rot, ours feature a vinyl-covered steel backboard. This not only means the notice board is more sturdy and long-lasting but more importantly your public notices announcements with magnets instead of traditional drawing pins. The back bar will never wear out.

Another great feature about our magnetic back panel is you are able to choose from a variety of colours. Please just let us know what colour you want.

Lockable Glazed doors:

All our external oak notice boards all come with glazed lockable solid oak doors. We use quality 4mm thick toughened glass for safety and security. The oak doors are fitted with Grade 14 external concealed bearing hinges, performance tested to 200,000 cycles. The locks are unobtrusive, simple and elegant. A larger bay for 6 x A4 paper announcements will have 2 locks per door.

Fitting your Oak Notice Board:

Fitting to a wall – All of our oak external public notice boards come with invisible screw head wall fittings on the back of the frame, making attaching to the wall very straightforward. All is needed is some screws filled into the wall and the notice board will simply hang in place.

Free Standing Notice Boards – You have the option to have your oak notice board fitted to 2 sturdy premium quality oak posts. Posts – 8xm x 8cm x 250cm (100cm attached to the notice board – 100cm additional free-standing post – 500mm below ground for fixing with concrete)

Personalise your Notice Board:

These stunning oak notice boards are available blank or can be personalised with your choice of words or lettering. Either on the top rail, bottom rail or both. You can also add carved symbols like hearts, stars and other engraved motifs like zodiac signs. Take a look at the options available to you – Engraving options.

Finish:

As with everything we do here at Make Me Something Special, we have spent the time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak sign is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your sign untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low-maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timber’s natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot harder wearing and only requires a top-up once a year, however, this depends on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top-up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website – see here.
