These handmade wooden monkey swings are constructed right here in our Hampshire workshop, to order, by hand, and make perfect gifts. An oak swing is all about having fun! The swing seats are then hand sanded until silky smooth with beautiful, rounded corners and gently smoothed off edges. This swing is well made, sturdy and looks great.

Our UK made Rope:

All of these personalised monkey swings come with a 5-metre drop of UK made synthetic hemp rope. This is a strong marine quality rope that is mellow in colour, soft to touch and being synthetic, it won’t swell, shrink or rot, unlike natural rope. Longer lengths of rope are available if required. Just let us know how much you need!

All swings come ready to hang. Just tie your oak swing directly from a tree branch or we can supply marine quality fittings, ideal for adjustment without having to climb the tree. They can also be hung from frames, porches and other such like. Another great use for a swing of this size and shape is on a zip-line.

Finish:

As with everything we do here at Make Me Something Special, we have spent the time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak swing is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your swing untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timbers natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot more harder wearing and only requires a top up once a year, however this depend on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website – see here. 

Personalise your Oak Swing:

 These little oak swings are available blank, with standard engraving or can be personalised with your choice of words or lettering, using up to 20 characters per side. You can also add carved hearts, stars and other engraved motifs. Take a look at the options available to you – Engraving options.

We can even engrave a secret or personal message for you on the underside of your wooden swing seat, making it that little bit extra special. Anything from children’s names, a classic children’s nursery rhyme or storybook quote, something witty, or just something secret you don’t want anyone else to see – but you know it’s there.
