When it comes to the end of the school year we are always asked by parents who are looking to club together and buy a leavers gift., One of the most popular commissions is our engraved school leavers bench. This is lasting statement, sat in pride of place at the school showing the children’s names.

If you look at it if 30 parents contribute then that’s around £29 per child to leave a bench that will be remembered for many many years to come, so a very long-lasting practical gift to the school and teachers who have looked after your children through the years.

We have included in the price of the bench engraving across the upright slats making up the bench back rest. Depending on the size of bench you choose, we can offer a single name or two names to be engraved down each slat upright.

Seat Configuration:

Our new engraved school benches are available in 3 standard sizes, a 2 seater, a 3 seater and a 4 seater configuration.

Standard, Premium or Curved Crest Top Bench 

We offer three versions of our benches, Standard and Premium with a curved top rail. Premium is the much heavier-duty version. The solid Teak bench frame is a lot chunkier and more solid however it does reduce the amount of upright making up the backrest. The curved top is ideal for those who want an engraved logo or carved crest on the bench. Please see our example images in our product gallery.

The Curved Crest Top Bench will include a carved logo, however this is based on a basic logo with good quality artwork being supplied. Some logos can be very complicated to carve which may add to the cost of the bench. Please do contact us with your logo when or before placing an order.

Finish:

Our Teak benches come without any finish as standard. Teak is a naturally oily timber and is perfectly suited for outdoor conditions. Your bench will fade to a pale silver colour in time if left untreated. You do have the option, if you so desire, to have your traditional bench finished in Superior Grade Danish Oil.

Cushions:

Coloured fitted cushion covers can be added to your bench order. An outdoor bench seat cushion is the perfect accessory for any timber bench, making it more comfortable and will finish off your bench nicely. Available in a range of colours.

Bench Security Ground Anchors:

If you are concerned about the security of your bench and want to protect your wooden school garden bench from opportunistic thieves and vandals we can supply quick and easy-to-install ground anchor fixing kits for both hard and soft ground.

Crafted from rust-proof galvanised steel, our ground anchors will provide an extra level of garden furniture security.

2 Seater: 94cm tall x 69cm deep x 1.2 metres wide – Up to 50 characters on the top rail and/or the knee bar

3 Seater: 94cm tall x 69cm deep x 1.5 metres wide – Up to 70 characters on the top rail and/or the knee bar

4 Seater: 94cm tall x 69cm deep x 1.8 metres wide – Up to 100 characters on the top rail and/or the knee bar

Price includes engraving on all slates across the backrest of the bench.

All engravings are in capitals. For lower case lettering, this can be requested at the time of order. Please add this to the note section at checkout or you can contact us via email or phone. All sizes are approximate.

Bespoke Engraving:

If you are looking to include extra lettering, lots of names for example for school leavers tribute. Well, we can carve names along the slats of the bench, on the back uprights as well as the bench seat slats. Please contact us for a quotation. All benches are delivered on a pallet. Please make sure before ordering you have the appropriate access.

News:

We were commissioned by the parents of Wellesley Prep School to produce a beautiful engraved school leavers bench. To include the school name, leavers date and all the children’s name engraved along the uprights of the bench. However, the parents also got permission from Charlie Mackesy, author of the amazing children book – The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, allowing us to carve one of the artwork scenes and one of the books quotes – Just fabulous!
