Finish: Untreated or Superior Danish Oil
Aftercare: Product maintenance is very important. We recommend you continue to treat your product with Danish oil or similar timber treatment oil to protect the timber and stop it drying out. This will also help to prevent staining, discolouration, cracking and warping.
If you have chosen your product to be left untreated, your product will fade to a pale silver in time. We recommend a pressure wash or a light sand once a year to remove any moss or unwanted mess on the timber and then treat with an exterior oil to slow down decay.
About Timber: Natural timber will always want to move. It’s going to expand and shrink as the temperature and humidity changes in your home and outside, rest assured it won’t change drastically. Small hairline splits may occur as your product ages, this is completely normal and is regarded as part of the timbers natural beauty. As the seasons change you may see some movement in your product, again this is completely normal.
Air-dried oak: Your product has been made using Air-dried timber. This is has been seasoned for outdoor conditions. Do not keep exterior products indoors.
If you need any help or advise on how to maintain your product please contact us or consult your care guide.

Our Handmade Single Oak Swing Frames for your garden. A feature all of its own in your garden.
Our solid oak handmade swing frame is completely made to order in our Hampshire workshop by our skilled craftsmen. This is a substantial oak frame, the same oak posts we use for our Premium oak signs. Each section of the swing frame is all cut and finished by hand with great care and attention to detail. The whole thing fits together like a giant jigsaw with locking stainless steel fittings.
Our philosophy has always been – if we make something it’s going to be better than anything else. You only have to look at our A-Frame and you will notice there is lot going on that makes ours that bit more special. The crossbar is a massive 20cm tall slab of quality Superior Grade Air-Dried Oak for strength and stability at the main point of frame, given huge support throughout the swing frame. The design, shape and finish is simply stunning.

Our garden swing frames are made from hand-selected ‘Air Dried’ English Oak. We would like to stress, these are made from Air-Dried Oak and not Green Oak. The reason why this is so important is that green oak is cut straight from the tree soon after it is felled and has not been dried in any way. This will over time dry out even in outdoor conditions and will move, split and crack as it dries and becomes accustomed to its surroundings. ‘Air Dried’ oak is as it states. It has been left to dry out over a long period of time – for several years and has acclimatised and settled into its surroundings. This means any movement or splitting has already occurred and can be removed leaving a flawless finish. This also means you can pretty much rely on the fact, as much as you can with a natural product like wood, that your beautiful swing frame will not change significantly once you have placed it in your garden. Your oak frame is already perfectly accustomed to outdoor conditions.
If you are order one of our swings to go with your oak swing frame it will come with all the swing fittings to hang and adjust your swing. The frame comes with two eyes fittings as part of the swing frame assembly. The swing is then attached to the frame fittings by safety locking stainless steel Carabiners, which means you can remove the swing very easily for storage or maintenance during the winter months. We also include our adjustable swing screws which allow the swing seat height to be raised and lowered when attached to the frame.
All our oak garden swings come with UK made Synthetic Hemp rope. A strong marine quality rope that is mellow in colour, soft to touch, and being synthetic it won’t swell, shrink or rot, unlike natural rope.
Choose either our Small Swing seat, Adult Swing seat, our Large Adult Swing seat or our Double Swing to go with your frame. Each oak swing can be personalised with your own engraved lettering on the front and back of the swing seat.
Our wooden garden swing frames can either be ordered untreated or finished in Superior Danish Oil. If you choose untreated the timber will soon weather to a pale silver given time. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timbers natural colour. This has a UV filter to protract the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best.
Our swing frames do not come with engraving as standard but if you want some engraved lettering or carved motifs this can be done by request. Along the top bar for example. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
