These premium tiered houses signs really are something special.

These are our heavy duty bespoke handmade tiered engraved wooden house signs, made to order in our Hampshire workshop. These sign can be custom fitted with 1 up to 6 signs. If you require more, it is not a problem, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

These stunning solid oak ladder houses signs are all carefully constructed using traditional joinery techniques. Each sign rung is fixed into the solid Air-dried oak posts and come fully assembled. Our tiered house signs are very sturdy and built to last.

Building your sign:

We appreciate all house names are different, so we would recommend you contact us to discuss your requirements with us, so we can run through your ideal house name configuration. However if you are happy and the names are very straight forward, your order can be placed very easily using the customer options. Simply add the number of sign plaques you need and write the names in order. All our engraving is done in capitals but if you would prefer upper & lower case lettering, then please let us know by email or by phone.

Our Timber:

We use Superior Grade English Oak, meaning our house signs are made to the highest of standards. The timber is hand selected by us to make sure it is clean and perfect for manufacturing into beautiful engraved wooden house signs.

Engraving and Colour Options:

All prices given will include engraving. You can then choose to leave the lettering plain or have it paint filled. We offer White, Black and Grey. The paint application we supply is three coats of water-resistant acrylic paint, giving plenty of protection for the years to come.

Additional carvings such as carved arrows can be added by request. Please contact us for these.

Adding Posts:

These tiered signs can be constructed with either  1 or 2 posts, depending on sturdy and imposing you want your sign to look. Makes no difference which option you choose the finished sign will look fantastic.

Finish:

As with everything we do here at Make Me Something Special, we have spent the time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak sign is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your sign untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timbers natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot more harder wearing and only requires a top up once a year, however this depend on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website – see here. 

Placing your Sign:

When it come to place your sign, we recommend you place 30 – 50cm into the ground and fill with concrete for stability and security reasons.

Dimensions & Character quantities:

Sign Plaques – 3.5cm thick x 15cm tall x 50cm – 100cm wide  (1.5” x 4” x 20 – 40”) ~ up to 20 characters of engraving included.

Posts – 8cm x 8cm x 1.2metres long for 1 signs. As additional signs are added the length of the posts will increase.
