We are one of the lucky companies to have the honour to use our skills and produce a product for Prince George Alexander Lewis. Unfortunately, we can’t show you the finished personalised toy box for Prince George as it was part of our agreement with our client.

Never-the-less, we can tell you how we make our personalised children’s toy boxes.

Our handmade – hand finished solid oak toy boxes are a thing of beauty and reflects just how well we do things here at Make Me Something Special. Pure quality and attention to detail is what we live by! We don’t do anything unless it is the finest it possible can be. As wooden toy boxes go this is one of finest you can buy and it’s all too clear to see why.

We hand select beautiful pieces of English Oak and cut and construct the solid oak panels that make up our personalised wooden toy boxes. Cutting those perfectly fitting dovetails joints and clamping it together – square and true.

The lid is solid oak, of course, and come fitted with either our soft close or our state of the art  –  Hold Anywhere Hinges. The means the lid basically works like a laptop. No matter where you leave the lid – it stays there!

Prince George’s toy box itself was no difference in size to our standard toy boxes we currently sell on our website. It measures 50cm tall x 45cm deep and 80cm long. Hand finished with many coats of Liberon, child safe, Superior Danish Oil, smoothing each panel with a natural sheeps wool buffing wheel until the finish is like that of a mirror. Our Children’s toy chests are just stunning.
