Unlike any standard oak chopping board on the market.

Here at Make Me Something Special, we offer a large range of quality oak chopping boards, all made to order in various sizes and shapes. What we are offering now is the ability to pick a one-off oak chopping board made from unique pieces of English Oak, hand selected by us from our local saw mill. We search amongst the thousands of timber boards held in stock in their warehouses and pull out boards that are either interesting in shape, have beautiful grain pattern, Pippy or Burr knotted areas.

The board shown in the photo is the board you will receive. If you would like any additional images, please get in touch because these boards are handmade and are sold as seen. Therefore we offer no returns or refunds.

Personalise your Chopping Board:

These one-off bespoke chopping boards do not come with any engraving. If you would like to add engraving to this board please contact us with your engraving requirements.

Please Note:

All engravings are in capitals. For lower case lettering, this can be requested at time of order. Please add this to the note section at checkout or you can contact us via email or phone. All sizes are approximate. Please also be aware, as these are 1 piece boards they are prone to movement and developing small splits and cracks. There may be some evidence of natural worm activity, like holes in the live edge. These will fit these with wood filler or wax. If you need any assistance with this, please contact us or take a look at your case guide supplied with the board. Any splits found during manufacture, will be filled by us. Small clear rubber feet will be supplied for all our large live edge boards. We recommend you use these to allow air flow underneath the board to keep the chopping board from warping and stop it slipping on your kitchen worktop.

Concerning Bark:

Our Live Edge chopping boards will feature no bark along the live edge, just simply the natural edge with the bark removed. For two reasons, firstly because the bark is were insects and worms live, so best it is not included in with a kitchen preparation board. The other reason is because that once the timber has been thoroughly dried in a kiln, the bark tends to fall off, if not during this process then later on once you begin using and washing the board.
