This book shaped wooden memorial marker is on another level. A beautiful green burial marker made to perfection right here in our Hampshire workshop with considerable care and attention to detail. We use this expression a lot when it comes to making high quality personalised wooden memorial plaques on a post, there is very little else to describe the lengths we go to make these grave markers special. If you are after something more interesting to a regular square edge flat personalised oak plaque – this really is something else!

These plaques, carved into the shape of an open book, is ideal for a joint burial plot or ashes. Alternatively, the two separate sections can be layout with sentimental wording. Name and dates on one side and a special message on the other. Or perhaps as a double burial plot memorial marker. Each side of the book is engraved for each.

Our eco friendly engraved solid oak grave markers feature a solid oak plaque set at 45 degrees, mounted on a 3-inch square solid oak post. The post comes 60cm long, giving you at least 30cm to be secured into the ground. The plaque itself is made from a single solid piece of superior grade English Oak, fitting to a substantial solid oak post at 45 degrees.

Finish:

As with everything we do here at Make Me Something Special, we have spent the time researching and sourcing the perfect materials available. Each oak memorial plaque is handmade from one piece of Air Dried Superior Grade English Oak. This Timber is perfectly seasoned and adjusted for outdoor conditions. You can choose to leave your plaque untreated, finished in Superior Danish Oil or our low maintenance Diamond Coating finish. If you choose untreated your product will weather to a pale silver more quickly. Danish Oil will not only treat the timber but also bring out the timbers natural colour. This has a UV filter to protect the timber but it does require regular upkeep. 2 – 4 times a year to keep it looking its best. Diamond Coating is more glossy but a lot more harder wearing and only requires a top up once a year, however this depend on the weather and where the product is placed. We would recommend twice a year if you want full protection. Top up kits can be ordered over the phone or on our website – see here. 

Personalisation: 

Our beautiful wooden grave markers come with a personalised engraving of your choice up to 100 characters included, however, if this is not enough, you have the option to make this up to 200 characters if more inscription is needed. You have complete control on how you want the layout to be and we can provide a preview once you have placed your order for you to approve before we begin carving. Carved Motifs:

Here at our Surrey Hills workshop we have over 3000 carvings on file, so when it comes to a carved motif to go alongside your engraved lettering on your memorial plaque, we pretty much have everything you could think of. If not we have bespoke service to create and design a carving of your choice. We can even copy designs and digital artworks and logos. All our memorial plaques come with 1 carved motif included. Please note – this does not include artwork to copy.

In our experience most of the sites we supply have strict guidelines when it comes to plaque sizes. If you require a bespoke size plaque, this is not a problem for us to make for you.
